Posted @withregram • @chinatownpcdc On April 19th @theyellowwhistle,launched their initiative to provide 10 to 100 whistles anywhere in the continental US to Asian American communities.
“The Yellow Whistle is a symbol of self-protection and solidarity in our common fight against historical discrimination and anti-Asian violence. The whistle is a simple gadget with a universal purpose -- to signal alarm and call for help-- for all Americans. We shall not remain silent, because we belong.” - @theyellowwhistle
A big thank you to Anne Martin-Montgomery of #theyellowwhistle, for stopping by PCDC’s office to drop off 300 yellow whistle and informational cards. The whistles will be distributed to patients at our Crane Chinatown COVID-19 Vaccination Site on April 20th.
Supporting #theyellowwhistle project is just one part of PCDC’s strategy to combating anti-Asian hate and racism. Other PCDC’s efforts include conducting a bilingual Anti-Asian Racism Incident Survey of 315 members of the Philadelphia Chinese immigrant community in March (full report available in Chinese and English is linked in our bio).
